After his debut at the age of 16 with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Zubin Mehta, he has performed with virtually every orchestra in Israel, the National Symphony in Washington DC, the New Jersey Symphony, the Bronxville Symphony, the Manhattan Philharmonia and the Sinfonia Varsovia.

Ori Kam is the violist of the Jerusalem String Quartet. He founded the Israel Chamber Music Society and was the violist of the Naumburg Prize-winning Whitman String Quartet. Independently, he has performed as a soloist with Daniel Barenboim, András Schiff, Itzhak Perlman and Pinchas Zukerman. He has been invited to numerous festivals, including Salzburg, Verbier, Tanglewood, Aspen, Santa Fe, Schleswig-Holstein, La Jolla, the Schubertiade and the Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival. In 2007, he released his first recording on the Berlin Classics label of the Double Concerto for Viola and Clarinet by Bruch. He also recorded Le Marteau sans maître by Pierre Boulez, conducted by Boulez himself, for Deutsche Gramophone.

Ori Kam has won several prizes and awards, including the Geneva Competition Prize, the “Paganini” Prize of the Lionel Tertis International Competition, and the 1995 Manhattan School of Music Concerto Competition. Last season, he received the Grand Prize of the S&R Washington Award.
