2022: A great vintage

In 2022, the tenth edition of the Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition took place, which was the first under the direction of the Modigliani Quartet and Julien Kieffer.
This competition, created in 1999 by Alain Meunier and Bernard Lummeaux, has established itself as an essential reference in the chamber music landscape, and has revealed ensembles such as the Belcea (1999), Ébène (2003), Schumann (2013) or Simply (2019) quartets.

Vibre ! Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition 2022 was unanimously hailed as a great vintage. A top-class jury and a large audience crowned the Leonkoro Quartet (Germany) the winner of the 1st Grand Prize, the Audience Prize and the Young Audience Prize. The Chaos String Quartet (2nd Prize and Prize for Contemporary Work) and the Barbican Quartet (3rd Prize) complete the 2022 prize list.
