A unique opportunity for the public to discover the facets of a profession of excellence and the different stages of making an instrument that will be loaned to a young talent from delais.
During the week of the Competition at the Auditorium of the Opéra National de Bordeaux, the C.L.A.C., Collectif de Lutherie et d’Archèterie Contemporaines, sets up its temporary workshop in the Auditorium to make a violin in real time.
The aim of this collective is to help highlight the dynamism of modern instrument making modern instrument making.
A mysterious world, as beautiful as it is demanding, the professions of violin maker and bow maker are an integral part of the string quartet ecosystem. The audience at the Competition will be able to witness a special experience by discovering all the stages involved in making this prestigious instrument. It will then be loaned, for one year, to a young a musician from Bordeaux.

The aim of C.L.A.C., the Contemporary Stringed Instrument Makers’ Collective, is to contribute to the dynamism and promotion of modern instrument making.
Its members, luthiers and bow makers, share a common vision of their art, based on a demand for quality and
honesty. They wish to establish a relationship based on trust, mutual respect and dialogue, both among members and with musicians. They develop activities that anchor their profession in musical events.
