Founded in 2017, the Elmire Quartet wins the 3rd Prize as well as the Special Prize for the best performance of the imposed contemporary work at the Carl Nielsen International Competition in Copenhagen in 2019.
They won the 2nd Prize at the FNAPEC European Competition in Paris and the 2nd Prize and the Adolfo Betti Special Prize at the Concorso di Musica da Camera Virtuoso e Belcanto in Lucca in 2018. In the same year, they won the Rheingau Musik Festival Prize at the 63rd Jeunesses Musicales-International Chamber Music Campus in Weikersheim.
Since then, the Quartet has been invited to various festivals such as the Festival de Wissembourg, the Festival des Arcs, the Rencontres Musicales d’Evian and the Folles Journées de Nantes, Tokyo and Ekaterinburg. During its career, the Elmire Quartet has benefited from the advice of members of the most prestigious quartets, including the Modigliani, Ébène, Ysaÿe, Berg, Danel and Keller Quartets.
They are resident artists at the Fondation Singer-Polignac, ProQuartet, Dimore Del Quartetto and are supported by the Fondation Banque Populaire since 2021. They have been named “Artistes Génération Spedidam” for the years 2022-2024.
The Quartet, in partnership with La Belle Saison, will release their first album in 2023 and are artistic directors of their own festival, the Festiv’Elmire, which they founded in 2020 at the Salle Cortot in Paris and which will have its third edition in 2022.
