Corina Belcea

Violin – Belcea Quartet

Corina Belcea was born in Romania in 1975 and studied violin with Radu Bozgan and Stefan Gheorghiu. At the age of sixteen, she moved to London to study at the Yehudi Menuhin School with Natalia Boyarskaya and completed her studies at the Royal College of Music with Felix Andrievsky.

It was at the Royal College of Music that the Belcea Quartet was born and developed. Corina has been its founding member and first violinist for 29 years. She has performed with the quartet and as a soloist throughout the world, and holds a professorship in violin at the Hochschule der Kunste in Bern.

Corina Belcea plays a violin by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini (1755) kindly loaned by MERITO String Instruments Trusts Vienna.
