Friendships must be nurtured, and this is especially true of Franco-German relations. In these times of crisis, the “European spirit” so dear to Robert Schuman should matter to us more than ever.
French regions that are geographically distant from Germany are particularly in need of a new impetus. In South-West France, the number of pupils choosing German as a foreign language decreases every year.
With the closure of the Goethe-Institut in Bordeaux, the region is losing an important hub for Franco-German dialogue. Achtung Kultur! was founded with the ambition of championing the Franco-German partnership at a local level by bringing together all stakeholders.
