{"id":4141,"date":"2025-03-24T09:40:41","date_gmt":"2025-03-24T09:40:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vibrefestival.com\/?page_id=4141"},"modified":"2025-03-24T09:43:16","modified_gmt":"2025-03-24T09:43:16","slug":"contemporary-creation-krystof-maratka","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/vibrefestival.com\/en\/contemporary-creation-krystof-maratka\/","title":{"rendered":"Contemporary creation &#8211; Kry\u0161tof Ma\u0159atka"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>AMEDEA-VISAGE DE JEUNE FILLE BY KRY\u0160TOF MA\u0158ATKA<\/h2>\n<h3>Set work for the Competition Final<\/h3>\n<h3>World premiere<\/h3>\n<p>For the Competition Final, <i>Vibre !<\/i> has commissioned a quartet from Kry\u0161tof Ma\u0159atka.<\/p>\n<p>This piece, lasting about ten minutes, will be performed by the three Competition finalists.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong> <strong>statement of intent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In his string quartet AMEDEA-visage de jeune fille, the composer Kry\u0161tof Ma\u0159atka draws on his artistic credo \u2018origINnovation\u2019: to draw inspiration from the universal principles of the past and link them to contemporary creation.<\/p>\n<p>During a retrospective exhibition of the painter Modigliani (1884-1920) , the composer was fascinated by the whole of his work and particularly by the painting Visage de jeune fille; he realised that the painter&#8217;s work drew on principles similar to those he used in his music: combining universal archaic techniques with contemporary processes. His quartet is fundamentally inspired by this artistic conviction and, as with Modigliani, there is this fascinating mix of past and present.<\/p>\n<p>In music, the string quartet embodies the expression of a most \u2018intimate\u2019 musical intention; Modigliani, on the other hand, paints the intimate mainly through the human figure, and Kry\u0161tof Ma\u0159atka is inspired by one of his portraits in which he questions our own existence through the prism of the contemplatio n esseul\u00e9e d&#8217;un simple visage de l&#8217;autre. Reflet de l&#8217;humanit\u00e9 \u00e0 travers une t\u00eate de femme.<\/p>\n<p>AMEDEA-visage de jeune fille is inspired by an eternal source for artists: love, women and passion, with musical icons such as Schubert&#8217;s Death and the Maiden, Jan\u00e1\u010dek&#8217;s Kreutzer Sonata and Berg&#8217;s Lyric Suite in mind. e \u00e0 Kreutzer by Jan\u00e1\u010dek or Berg&#8217;s Lyric Suite.<\/p>\n<p>Written both for a competition for young quartets and as a concert piece for a contemporary string quartet, the work AMEDEA-visage de jeune fille opens the doors for young ensembles to new creative experiences, new techniques and challenges of performing a work never heard before. On the other hand, through its spirit and its language, the quartet has the requirement of a personal, autonomous work, going beyond a competition test.
