Works projected on a large screen, evolving to the rhythm of the music that unfolds on the front of the stage… The drawn concert is not a setting in animation, but rather the evocation of the contours, the enrichment of the sound itself, opening another sensory door without ever putting aside the performer.

Cécile Pruvot’s works are made of pharaonic perspectives, of multiple times and spaces, and offer a unique depth of view to György Ligeti’s very first quartet, entitled Métamorphoses nocturnes. “While I gradually detached myself from Bartók, during the first part of the 1950s, I continued to compose essentially under his influence,” wrote the Hungarian composer.
Hungarian composer. A suite of “character” variations, based on the tension between a diatonic interval and a chromatic interval, the work was destined to remain confidential because it risked censorship by the Communist authorities. It was only when Ligeti fled Hungary that he was able to take it up again and complete it, in 1958.

The Agate Quartet, a student of the Ebony Quartet and already a prize-winner at the Verbier Festival Academy and the Irene Steels-Wilsing Competition, has chosen to bring this kaleidoscopic piece together with Brahms’ third and last quartet, a very original initiative when one hears the pastoral atmosphere that opens the latter. Fanfares, horseback riding and distant hunts give way, however, from the second movement onwards, to music with obvious orchestral potential, and one understands that Brahms, who destroyed many quartets, only allowed himself to write in order to achieve this density of material. Cross-lighting for a concert full of sensations!

Designed concert – Agate Quartet & Cécile Pruvot
Tuesday, May 17th at 8pm
Eden Cinema, Pauillac

Price of 3€ (instead of 10€) for participants in the “Music in the making” workshops

In partnership with the association Les concerts de Poche, VIBRE ! extends its mediation action around the string quartet to the Médoc area.

In order to encourage an audience far removed from classical music to attend the concerts, several awareness-raising workshops will be held prior to the concerts in Pauillac and Listrac-Médoc.

Focused on the discovery of classical music and creativity, these workshops are led by an actor
and/or a musician accompanied by a mediator with groups of schoolchildren, residents of nursing homes and local associations. To complete this experience, a pricing policy has been designed to allow participants to attend the concerts at a very preferential rate.

The Concerts de Poche propose a system of workshops and concerts that are indissociable and itinerant. Their goal is to bring the greatest artists of classical music, jazz or opera to rural areas and neighborhoods. With these programs, they wish to involve all audiences, in particular young people, isolated or disadvantaged people, in participative musical projects and to serve a social and territorial dynamic by creating a durable link between the inhabitants and by contributing to balance the cultural offer.
