Quatuor Métamorphoses

Mathilde Potier, violin
Pierre Liscia-Beaurenaut, violin
Jean-Baptiste Souchon, viola
Alice Picaud, cello

The Métamorphoses string quartet is made up of young musicians from the Conservatoires nationaux supérieurs de Paris and London. A progressive and infinite metamorphosis of four individualities by the fusion of their timbres, their dynamics and their energies towards a universe of their own, such is the will of these young artists.

These talented musicians coming from different backgrounds and cultures unite their talents for the benefit of a sound unity, a common aesthetic and a desire to share with the public the richness and magnificence of the string quartet repertoire.

Trained at the CNSMDP in chamber music in the classes of Jean Sulem and François Salque, the Metamorphoses Quartet regularly perfects its skills with members of the Ebène and Modigliani Quartets.

Nominated member of the ECMA in 2018, the quartet benefits from the teaching of great musicians such as Hatto Bayerle, Johannes Meissl, Patrick Jüdt, Petr Prause, Per Lundberg, Diana Ligeti and Alfred Brendel.

The quartet performs regularly in the Paris region and in many French festivals (Festival de Prades, Musical’Océan, Musique à La Prée, Estivales de Puisaye, Vox Musica, Jeunes Talents de Loudun, Festival de Musique en Albret, Radio Classique…). It was also invited to play during the 2018 String Quartet Biennale at the Philharmonie de Paris.

The Metamorphoses Quartet is invited to perform in concert as a quintet with eminent international soloists such as Emmanuelle Bertrand, Florent Pujuila, Francois Salque, David Walter, Michel Moraguès, Michel Lethiec, Jean-Baptiste Sautereau, Diana Higbee or Diana Ligeti.
