Established in September 2019, Arete Quartet unanimously passed the audition of Kumho Art Hall Young Chamber Concert, and debuted in Kumho Art Hall Yonsei in the following September. The live performance was exclusively introduced to Korea Broadcasting Service, Korea’s biggest broadcasting institution.

The Arete Quartet won first place in the 72nd Prague Spring International Music Competition in 2021, and won other special awards including the Bohuslav Martinu Foundation award. And Arete Quartet won two special awards at the 12th International String Quartet Competition of Reggio Emilia, the Premio Paolo Borciani. The two special awards are the ‘Best Performance for String Quartet commissioned by Toshio Hosokawa’ and the ‘scholarship by the Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland Prize’.

The Arete Quartet is supposed to have concerts around Europe and is invited to Prague Spring international Music Festival 2022.

The Arete Quartet currently studying at Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and scholarships from Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now.

The Arete Quartet was previously introduced by BR-klassik.

The Arete String Quartet is learning from Prof. Christoph Poppen, Jaeyoung Kim of the Novus Quartet, Quatuor Ébène, Prof. Eberhard Feltz.
